Writing on the Wall
Language surrounds us- be it spoken, musical, or written, heard or observed. It is the essence of communication, woven into the fabric of our world through signs that we often overlook or fail to fully grasp. Patterns in nature tell stories and offer information, yet their meanings often elude us. Texts of all kinds, from sacred scrolls to street signs, can become undecipherable or ambiguous to someone out of time or place.
I see alphabets everywhere and use them to transcribe my observations into forms others can engage with and interpret. Each piece I make is a record of the world’s hidden languages, an invitation for the viewer to pause, reflect, and uncover what is often left unseen or unsaid.
The title of this on-going series stems from a phrase indicating that what is clear to some is obscure to others.
